In 1949, Mr. Hackett and his wife started a little frame shop in the garage of his central El Paso home. Neighbors appreciated the personal service, so they expanded carrying a full line of art supplies.
Soon, the Art Center became second home to ones like Tom Lea, Dorothy Geyer, Manuel Acosta, Jose Cisneros, Noel Espinoza, and many others.
Today, the Art Center continues to be appreciated by the beginner and professional artists, framers, hobbiests, teachers and students.
